I’ve always been someone who’s drawn to movement, challenge, and pushing past comfort zones. Whether I’m skateboarding through the summer, snowboarding down the slopes in winter, or throwing punches at the gym, I’m all about testing limits—physically and mentally. And now, I’m putting it all on the line in my first-ever amateur boxing match at The Melee Gala!

This will be my first-ever amateur boxing match, and to be honest, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever done. Outside the gym, I’m a husband, a proud father to three amazing kids (aged 20, 14, and 11), and the lucky human to three energetic little dogs who keep our home buzzing with joy. When I’m not spending time with my family, I’m running my small business, specializing in tile and decorative finishes—a craft I’ve built from the ground up and continue to pour my passion into every day.

This boxing journey has become much more than a fitness goal. It’s been a deeply personal process—about resilience, focus, and learning what I’m truly capable of. Between intense sessions at United Boxing Club and Richard Burr Fitness, I’ve been challenged in ways I never expected—and inspired to keep showing up, day after day.

At 54 years old, I bring a lifetime of experiences to the ring. I was born and raised in Winnipeg’s North End and am a proud father to three amazing adult children: Brittany (25), Braden (23), and Owen (20).

By profession, I’m a Mechanical Engineer, having graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1995. I’m also a former quarterback for the U of M Bisons (Class of ’89) and hold a Private Pilot License issued by Transport Canada.

Outside of my career, I’m a passionate writer, director, producer, and actor in local amateur theatre productions. My personal interests span from social psychology and quantum physics to online content creation—I’m always curious, always learning.

I believe in the power of growth through challenge. This event is not only a chance to test myself physically and mentally, but also a way to stand behind an important cause and uplift others in the process.
